Alaska Folk Festival | Alaska Someday

Happening Now: Alaska Folk Festival

The Alaska Folk Festival is underway in Juneau this week! Musicians and music-lovers from all over Alaska and all around the U.S. are flocking to the state capital for this annual gathering, a weeklong celebration of music that is free to the public.

Here’s just some of what attendees are seeing and sharing live from Folk Fest, via Instagram:

Musicians Log: April 9th, 2018. We made it! 🙌🏼 As you can see, there is no shortage of awe-inspiring beauty in the final frontier. We started our afternoon with a nice lunch a Sandpiper Cafe before heading to our radio interview at KTOO. We played a couple originals and spoke of our journey North and shows throughout the week. Afterwards, we made our way to the Mendehall Glacier (just 5 minutes from my brother’s house!) I stood at the edge of the lake, blown away by the gorgeous landscape and felt the significance of it all. I stopped to take my first glacier selfie with my bro ➡️. It was a mix of rain and sun, and as we drove a full rainbow appeared just below the clouds as a nice welcome into the heart of Juneau. Today we play first at @radiouas, and then hit the stage at the Alaska Folk Fest this evening. More to come! So far, it feels like a perfect dream 💜 #homeland #alaskanadventures #alaskafolkfestival . . . #alaska #juneaualaska #juneau #mendehallglacier #alaskan #travellog #musiciansofinstagram #musicianslife #tour2018 #universityofalaskasoutheast #travelguide #adventurers #bandmates #siblingselfie #femalefronted #ashevilleartist #womenwhoexplore #womenwhorock #womeninmusic #traveljournal #hopegriffinmusic
